How come you dont need much education to be a cop?

I think the police academy is a 2 year program - similar to an lpn (licensed practical nurse) or emt (emergency medical technician).

These programs are technical in nature, so you don't take English, math, and all of the other general ed classes you would in a standard Bachelor program.

BTW, that is why the starting salary for those professions are not high - many in demand, few jobs in supply.
