I can't leave home. What's the easiest way to find people who need something typed? |
I have trouble leaving home, and I can't drive a car. I would like to find people who need something typed and would be able to pay cash for small typing jobs. What is easiest way to find these people, that doesn't require transportation? ( I'm not really looking to start my own business or anything that complicated, just do some odd jobs for cash.) What is the best way to look for such things? I have tried some online resources, like Craig's list, but thus far, I've had no luck. Any suggestions? I admire what you're doing and I'm envious that you can type! Here are several suggestions: --Word of mouth--tell any and everyone you come in contact with about this plan. If you have a printer, make up business cards and ask anyone who visits to help out by distributing them to grocery stores, colleges, actually any school with in a 20 mile radius, beauty salons, bistros, coffee houses, libraries, etc. --The telephone--call anyone you know and tell them about your plan. Ask them to pass on this information. (see above; this is very similar to Word of mouth). --Advertise--the local newspaper has a business / help wanted section and it's usually inexpensive. --Advocates--do you have someone who works with you like a therapist, home aid, or an advocacy group? By home aid I mean someone who helps run errands for you. An advocacy group will help out if you need to talk with a lawyer, if you need to move, general life things. (I recommend an advocate for anyone who has any type of disability. I'm not being insensitive, okay? I have a disability and have advocates; it has helped me very much.) I hope this helped you. My Mary Kay Director has someone help her with office type stuff creating fundraisers and newsletter etc. Look for a Mary Kay director in your area. You can do a web search www.marykay.com but it might be easier to find a Director through the 800 number. See if they need any office help or know a new director that might.
