Qualifications that will be useful on getting an office job?

hi, Im a brazilian woman and I live in England to joing my british husband. Im sick of bar/hotels jobs and I want to get a office job. I am inteligent, in Brazil i was at accountancy uni, in England i have been studying, I got adult literacy level 2, adult numeracy level 2, CIMA fundamentals of management acoount, European computer driving license, but im still not having a job. Does anyone know a good qualification that will give me a job as admin/data entry/secretary ???

perhaps look for your local pitman centre they teach computing and secretarial skills as well as accountancy etc.
or as your local job centre for advice on similar courses in your area.

another approach would be to sign on for a temping agency. that way you are more likely to be given a job even if its only short term but you will gain experience and you never know some companies use temp agencies to try out staff and then offer them perminant jobs.
either way the experience will look good on your CV.
Business studies course as this will teach you typing, computing, maths and english and more!
computer skills are a must, also be friendly and outgoing
Obviously, you'll need to know the in's and out's of a computer and it's office programs. A good handle on how to file would also be helpful. You may need to know some about inventory, fax machines, copy machines, phone etiquette, and finances. Good luck on your job quest!
A typing course would help - most admin/secretarial jobs want a good typing speed. Also, shorthand and/or audio course will help.

Your local college might be able to help with this.
Trawl the net for jobs with firms who may want to do exports to South America , you have already got the skills that they may want, even the airlines may give you a job or travel agencies, you have the language and knowledge of your country.
I've been in secretarial/entry positions before in the USA. Good skills to have, people skills-customer service, happy greetings, happy personality, typing, some accounting is good, filing, answering a multi-line telephone system. Good organizational skills help too. I don't know about in England, but I believe anywhere they wuold want a team worker-somewone who works well with others, or can work alone. How much superviison (if any) do you need?
Also, there in England, do they have companies that offer temporary workers, like here they have Man Power. They send out skilled people in whatever field of work a company is looking for, and sometimes, the person works out so well, the company they are sent to sometimes hires them for their own company.
I trust you have your resume' all done, and your list of references, etc. The right job will come along at the right time. Here in the States, when I have looked for work, it is said that it is a job to get a job. Eight hours a day, looking for work. I wish you the best. Take care.
