Have any of you worked at a hotel at the front desk?

Tell me about it. How did or do you like it? How much do you get paid? What are your responsibilities? Does it feel dangerous? Just whatever you can think of because I'm thinking about takeing a job .I will really appreciate If you will take the time to help me out ! I know you don't mind because were cool like that, right.

I have worked at two different places as a front desk clerk. I really enjoyed the face to face interaction with the public. You get to meet some really interesting people. It can however get hectic at times. You will be answering phones, setting reservations, dealing with people checking in/out . Sometimes all at once. You should have some computer skills and telephone skills. You also need alot of people skills. I was making $ 7.50hr. but that was also back in 1998 in Nevada. Good luck with your job hunt I wish you the best of luck.
I have never had that job, but always thought it would be fun. You get to meet tons of happy people ...usually tourists that are happy not to be at work etc. They will ask you opinions on place to eat etc, I am sure that you will enjoy the work.. take it!!
