2 Days of Training?? |
I got a job in a field I'm not too familiar with. The woman whose position I will be taking is leaving in 2 days. Can you give me some pointers of important questions I should ask her and perhaps take notes about? She is leaving and I may not be able to contact her, I don't want to be LOST when she is gone for good. I don't believe 2 days of training is adequate....but with the right questions, I might feel more comfy in the new job. Thanks in advance, guys!! you can learn by studying first of all your job description fully and then ask every thing that you cannot understand and pass you 2 days with her observing each and every one her activity how she is performing different jobs/activities in office. How did you get the position and you don't know anything about it? I suggest understanding exactly what you're responsible for. Then, shadow her on the job for the next 2 days armed with a notebook and pen to jot down notes. The questions will come while you're learning the job. Absorb all the info you can, ask her if it is okay that you call her. When I went to a new job, the lady that was transferring to a different dept. left her number for me and told me it was okay that I called her (which I did) if she doesn't offer then ask. If she says no or you don't feel comfortable asking, you have a supervisor who should be able to further assist you. |
