Any advice? |
what would you do if one of your boss is making a pass at you? i am very irritated with the situation because i don't like it and it makes me very uncomfortable. i've been trying to avoid any conversations with him and it's been really hard to do that specially that he IS my boss. document the offenses, keep a journal. go back and write all you remember. watch for witnesses, you don't have to talk to them yet, you notice them when you are uncomfortable, they probably notice that you are uncomfortable also. contact the authorities, tell someone close to you also. I would like to tell you to have a talk with your boss and tell him his actions make you uncomfortable but since he is in a position of authority over you, he will probably deny and intimidate if not "fire" you for many made up reasons. If you happen to be in a union, you can contact them. Good luck to you. I would flat out turn him down. Stand your ground. Eat a lot of garlic or onions. Make yourself generally unpleasant to be that close to. If that's not practical, make a point of stepping away from him, visibly stepping away from him, every time he stands too close. You might not have to say a thing to him. But if he keeps it up, either report him to his boss, or find another job, because it's just not worth the stress. Go to his supervisor--or another supervisor in the building. If that doesn't work file a complaint of sexual harassment against him. Unfotunately that might end your career however you won't be uncomfortable. It's not fair for you to put up with his antics. Good Luck. Human Resource. Call you bbb and ask them. Sexual harassment is illegal. Document EVERTHING what he says, what he does, what he is wearing, his facial impression. The time, date, where it happened what took place and after you have your documentation, proceed to human resource, if that does not help, pull out the yellow pages and call up an attorney for a consulation. I would go to the human resource dept. and report this to them first. if that didn't solve your problem go to the very top of the company. no company wants to get in any law suits over this type of an issue. i have owned and ran several companies over the last 50 years and that is the very first rule that i lay down to all employees. be it male or female. because this issue works both ways. i hope this helps you and have a great day. buck Tell him you seen the movie 9 to 5. Or tell him you are in a serious relationshiop already. Then bring guy in or gal! |
