What to do when an Interview is forgotten by the interviewer? |
I had an interview (phone interview) scheduled for June 4th. She didn't call and after an hour, I called to leave her a message and emailed her at work. She emailed replying that she thought the date was June 11th and said that she'd call to reschedule. A week went by and I emailed asking if the position had been filled. She said no and that she wanted "very much to talk with me" - 'Would I still be available for an interview"? I said yes, but haven't heard anything from her in three days. What should be my next step? Should I forget working for someone who has scheduling conflicts? If she wanted to put me off and not interview me, why say did she wanted to to interview me after a week of no contact? This is a tough one. I've seen my boss in similar situations, and there are many reasons why. Often things come up beyond his control that preempt the interview, but then again, many times it's just a case of overbooking his schedule. The big deciding factor, if it were me, would be how closely would I be working with this person , and in what capacity. If their inability to stick to a schedule would directly impact your job, then drop it now. If not, and it seems like a job you'd really want, call her back with a specific date and time for an interview. If you take the initiative and show that you're a person of action, it could work in your favor. And if she flakes on that appointment, I'd say she's probably never going to be able to hire anyone! Source(s): Loving my job working for a "flake" of a boss! GO AHEAD AND START INTERVIEWING HIM if it's that disorganized getting an interview, imagine working there This is a major red flag. You shouldn't want to work for someone that's being unprofessional and flakey. Move on - keep sending out those resumes to other companies and forget about this one. If she ever gets around to contacting you, then it's your call, but keep your eyes peeled for other red flags. She obviously is really stupid or really does not want to interview you. You pick either way you should definitely move on to another job. You have already wasted what three weeks on this waiting crap. She is turning you into her. try working for yourself from home.....Make Easy Money giving Surveys online. Make upto $25 per hour. |
