What jobs are in demand and pay well for someone that has a Master's in Organizational Management? |
-Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice -10 years working as an audio visual aide with minimal oversight of 8 workers (No relation to my degree, just a job that has stuck with me.) -Looking for a job of substance and great responsibility -Interested in health administration, retail management, and security management -Willing to move anywhere in the country, preferably next to the coasts Do you have any experience in retail or security? Did you do any kind of an internship for your Criminal Justice degree? What aspects of organizational management did you focus upon for your masters? -- HR, Marketing, Systems, Statistics? I know in retail, you often need experience supervising sections or experience in the lower ranks to move up into store management. You could try starting with assistant management positions -- but you really don't need more than a BA for those and they often don't pay well. I am not sure what qualifications you need for the corporate office, that might be the angle to try for retail. As far as security management you can combine that with retail by going into loss prevention. However, as far as I can tell that doesn't require a masters. Don't (ever!) minimize your experience. You have supervisory experience via your audio visual job -- it might have been "minimal" but emphasize what aspects you did supervise don't qualify it with "minimal". You need to find qualifications and skills you developed that can transfer from your audio visual into other fields. If you are a recent graduate, most universities offer career counseling. Anyone who has an actual Master's Degree should not only already KNOW which jobs the degree fits nicely to but also has access to resources to help introduce said degree holder to companies. However on the off-chance you are seriously clueless you should look at the Big 3 consulting firms as they pay well and would have relocation opportunities. > Consultant > HRD & Management for multi net company |
