My boss curses me and others out....? |
This is my first time asking a question here, so bare with me. My boss curses people out, uses racial slurs about certain people when there not around, and then today grabs me by my arm like a little child to pull me somewhere. I already filed a complaint with the regional complaint department, but I want to know if I have some legal rights towards this ? He did verbally and now physically harassed me. Any idea's ? I live in Louisiana. The moment your boss touched you, it became an assault. Talk to a lawyer. You deserve better. first you have to tell him that you are uncomfortable with this treatment, if it persists then you have grounds to file a bigger complaint. or just cup check him LOLOL, yes tell someone, tell a lawyer and get paid!!! tell your company EOE, tell human rights groups, tell the labor board of your state, tell human resources.... Your company is legally obligated to investigate any harassment complaint, and if you've notified your regional complaint department, you've put that obligation on them. If it's been a while and you haven't heard anything, call them and ask for a progress update. And if your boss, or anyone else at the company, retaliates against you in any way, you are also protected under the law. If that happens, you will want to contact your state's labor board. In the mean time if the harassment continues, report him again! The more documentation they have, the stronger you case will be if you ever have to go to court over this. Also, keep copies of any communications with the complaint department or any other "person of authority" in the company for your own records, document all phone conversations, print & keep copies of all emails, etc., but keept them at home so you'll have easier access to them if you ever need them. |
