I'm Confused & Not To Sure What To Do With My Job, QUIT or Give @ 2 WEEKS NOTICE??? |
>The Company I work for, used to be the best job ever i Have almost been here 2 yrs. Although Lately for some odd reason my Boss has been being Really RUDE, & Saying Mean Things to me, or like Threatening me with my future pay raise, and my (PTO)Paid Time OFF.Also recently all employees got a reaise However they all got dollar raises & i Only 20 cents =(..It hurts, to know that my work is not appreciated any longer. I know there are better jobs for me out there . However, I am thinking about Quitting this Friday 13th. Please Help Me & Let me kNow whats best to do..ASAP..PSSSSS: I have other jobs that i am working part time to go to..Its just This Job Was Full Time & was Once Meaningful to ME. Thanks for taking your time in reading my Problem. =p It's your choice. If you up and quit, you loose a job reference. But, don't despair - you don't have to have a good rec from every place of employment. It sounds as if you can go somewhere else and it sounds like your ready to go The only reason to give a 2 week notice besides being nice is for a recommendation. It's up to you. If the job is no longer working for you movw on but give the 2 weeks notice it looks better to the other company that you are going to move to. I have always given notice and have always got good letters of recomendation from every company I have worked for I wouldn't quit because it may look bad for future employers. The first thing I would do is talk to your boss and then Human Resources (or his boss if you don't have one) and find out what is going on (don't forget to document everything your boss has done to you). If you can't get any satisfaction then give a two week notice and make sure you have another job waiting for you. I think before you up and quit you should go find out what changed so dramatically as for them to treat you that way. Is there someone you can talk to at work who is in on all thr rumors and gossip? There may be somebody who has been spreading lies or untruths about you, that you may not be aware of. If so, your career has been hurt by this. I would go to someone you have been getting along with and ask them to tell you honestly what has been going on for management to try and force you to quit like this. The truth may be uncomfortable or even hurt, but at least you will know. Besides, it's better to learn the truth from the source than have problems getting hired by a poor review from this company. Good luck. I sympathize. I have been there before and the situation just plain stinks. If this job was once meaningful to you, I would suggest you put your concerns in writing and take them to your boss's boss. It might be possible to either work things out or transfer within the company. Whatever you do, you need to give them the option of having you stay on for two weeks, but if your boss has been down on you lately be prepared for him to say "that's okay you can leave today". The first thing i would 'weigh' here is with that small raise......Ask yourself: Am I just as good as the others who received a larger raise?? Be very Objective, not Subjective. Step outside yourself and answer Honestly. If your boss is now being rude and threatening, I would report him/her to Human Resorces. Don't leave until your boss knows what he or she did was wrong. Tell HR How much this job/career meant to you and how hurt you are in leaving this "career" because of one person. I wouldn't leave if you did not have another job lined up, i did this and it was very hard. Pride is hard to swallow sometimes. Good Luck. If it were me, I would try to look for another job before I give them my 2 weeks notice. I am sorry that you are working in such a hostile enviroment. I can tell you that it is very unpleasant to work in the enviroment that you can't stand. I went through it myself and ended up crying when I get home from work. No one should have to go through that feeling. I was lucky to have a support from my family and my husband that I was able to quit that day and get a lawyer that day for discrimnation. However, I do have a friend who went through similiar situation as you did, she gave her two weeks notice before she went to find another job. She ended up staying there until she found a job. She is very happy where she is working right now. I don't know if this will ever help you. Then I would just go ahead quit your job now. You don't need anymore crap from your boss. |
