Some people are never happy -you complete your work and it's never enough!
Keep a few files on your desk and when comes round say you're updating them, starting new database etc.It makes you sound super efficient!
whenever he comes around, start scratching yourself a lot
The first help you need is learning how to write, spell, use capitalizations and proper grammar! After that you may find your boss stays off your "back".
As a boss, he has to justify having you as an assistant. Therefore, during slower times, he needs to know that he can prove to his superiors that you are a contributing team member and worth it. So, during those slower times, check with him to see if you can help him with anything. I always ask my boss if I can do anything for her, but also let her know I have plenty to do. I just say so in a manner of I can handle anything she needs as my current items aren't on the top of the priority list.
It is true that you would most likely benefit if you used correct grammar; however, this really is just something you will figure out for yourself as you become older and have more experience.
Depending on the position of your supervisor is really the answer to your supervisors issue.
For instance if he/she is an owner it would be a control issue.
If your supervisor isn't very good at his/her position than he needs you to assist in pulling weight for him so therefore he/she is on your azz
If your supervisor is just a "manager" type then yes you would be correct he/she is as bored as you but all you have to do is out talk him/her by saying things like soooo what are you thinking or hows it going - you have something you need me to take care of for you.
Basically you can do this with most of your supervisors; however, since you said you work for a pretty large company if it is corporate and you work more in the exec. level than be careful on this since they are wise and you are still a beginner.
NO worries just do your job enjoy your life and be the best you can be!!
You should start eating more beans daily. More vegetables in general...you figure out the rest.
