I need to quit a job I like , due to unexpected proposal from out of state boyfriend? |
My boyfriend of sometime has poped the question, and after carefull thought I said yes. We have had a long distance thing going on for awhile. Now that we are on the same page with marriage .. we are wanting to live in the same house together prior to marriage. my fiance wants me to move in asap , he knows i need to give my job notice ... Problem is , I really like my job and everyone at work is awsome , I love the people I work with , and I promise they are gonna cry and tear up if I leave. But i also want a famliy of my own not just one i work with everyday. How do i tell my employer I quit, I really don't say to much about my personal life at work I sorta keep it hush, hush ... so this proposal and getting married will seem like it to them , just something out of the blue. how do I say it to them I need to give as much notice as possiable . Give notice tomorrow, in a letter. It can be short and sweet - see the link below for help. Congrats... give them notice-2 wks, whatever, tell them you're moving out of state-enuff said I think the best thing always is just to tell the truth. I would give 2 weeks notice and tell them that you are relocating to build a family. However, if I were you, I would never leave such a good job and such great relationships UNLESS and UNTIL you have an engagement ring and a wedding date!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I QUIT.
