Explain 'transformation at the workplace'? |
Explain 'transformation at the workplace'? Generally it refers to the desire to totally revamp work processes from beginning to end, often aided with a new technology. Typically it also means to do so quickly, and to not to do slowly or incrementally. A simplistic example: Doing what is necessary for an office to transition from using old fashioned typewriters and a paper filing system--> to buying, using and training employees with computers, wordprocessing, spreadsheets, etc. Think about it--no more paper, shared files, etc. ANd making that shift in two weeks. That's transformation! It means changing the skills, attitudes, values, products, etc. of a company. The company may be going through some tough competition or a technological change so it re-invents itself or creatively destroys itself in order to remain competitive. A good example of companies going through such transformation are Kodak and IBM. Peace and blessings! |
