What's the job of logistic manager in a company?

Some details please

Logistic Managers usually have a background in accounting. They work with units, times (delivery - manufacturing and shipping), manpower required and costs. They usually are very analytic in nature. They analysis everything that a company does and draw up conclusions as to how to get from point A to B the quickly in the most productive manner without harming the company that they work for.
Takes care of shipping and receiving..
Logistics deals with transportation, and communication. A company with light logistic support will have trouble with supply, shipping, and comunication. A company with heavy logistic support will have a large capacity for shipping, supply and communication. In most cases, company logistics deals with shipping. A logistics manager would be in charge of making sure the company's shipping is run smoothly, but this may include supply or comunication as well. In the case of a company like SONY tm. A logistics manager would be in charge of warehouses and shipping fleets including supply and demand tables. This said SONY manager would have to make sure that the proper amount of shipping is available for the deadline and check that against the time the supply will be available. SONY's logistics are capable of shipping 500,000 units of PS3s to the US in the time needed, but the supply just wasn't there. LOL!

Cheers!
I've done logistics, It's looking after what you are getting, what you already have and what you are shipping. You manage all the stuff - not money or service policy or HR or marketing or sales - just stuff; where it is, where its going and when it will be there.
