My co-worker and I are competing for the same job -- we both interview tomorrow. I'm nervous, any advice? Stay calm, be yourself, and know the job is yours. Congratulations on your job interview! JUST BE YOURSELF (AND act professional. If your interviewer asks you why you deserve this job and not your friend - just tell all of your great qualities and do not say anything negative about your hime/her - friend). Don't forget to eat your wheaties and iron your clothes. AND remember: HE or SHE is NOT a friend but a co-worker. If you really want the job, ask a lot of good questions during your interview. It shows that you are very interested in the company and the position. don't be nervous. Just practice the interview question and prepare yourself. Remember you can do it just believe in yourself Be professional... Give great examples of yourself NEVER say anything negative about your co-workers that are competing with you for this position. If a question is asked along the lines of - Why are you a better canididate than "Jane" ? Say " Jane is a good employee and works hard however I think my _____ makes me a good fit for this position" (not better fit) Good luck Interviews are always a reason for one to be nervous especially if the job is up for grabs by more than one person. But you can gain an edge during the interviewing process by doing the following: 1. Be at the job site 15 minutes before the interview starts 2. If you are male, make sure suit is dark, white shirt, dark tie-no crocodile shoes 3. Briefcase should be the slim kind if any. 4. Bring a pen and pad to the interview room. 5. Look the interviewer direct in the eye 6. If you are a lady, no skirts shorter than 3 inches above the knee. 7. Turn off the cell phone 8. Don't overdo cologne spray or deodorant 9. Do not bring any drink into the interview room 10.
