What is the biggest turn off to a prospective new boss during an interview? |
I'm extremely nervous about my interview tomorrow...I just wanted some advice on what not to do during the interview. Okay, here it is, a quick list of "NEVER DO'S" Never control the conversation. Listen before you speak. Never badmouth your previous companies Never ask about money before they ask if you are interested in taking the job. Never take anyone else with you unless you are deaf or mute or otherwise impaired. Never go in unprepared. Before the interview, know the persons name and how to pronounce it. Know what the company does and how long they have been in business. And NEVER forget to ask for the job even if you don;t know how much it pays. If they say you are hired, you can usually ask for more money and get it. The biggest turn off would probably be a history of jobs that you've been fired from because of theft or selling company secrets. Preprogrammed responses. Falsifying your credentials. Just be yourself and be polite. Remember, the hiring board is intently looking at your personality, not only your qualifications. Good luck! don't fidget a lot, keep eye contact, don't say "um" or "like" or any slang really, don't interupt, and don't respond by using short answers to every question. Don't just say yes or no, elaborate. Don't chew gum or if ur a smoker don't smell like smoke so don't smoke a while before ur interview. GOOD LUCK! took a job search course don't be nervous Lies. Don't do it. You are what you are. Be confident. |
