Does anyone know of any really good books to Read I am such a Fanatic? |
Does anyone know of any really good books to Read I am such a Fanatic? my favorite book ever is the lovely bones by alice sebold..it's about a girl that dies and it's her account from heaven. i also really liked the bonesetter's daughter by amy tan. i read it for a women's class but it didn't feel like work @ all. James Patterson is my obsession-murder mysteries and such. Sophia Kinsella is also good-she writes the shopoholic books-they are pretty funny i guess it depends on your age but the book So B. It is very good my mom and i read it together and we both cried. Well, the answer depends on your taste in literature. If you like Fantasy: there's Harry Potter of course, (he's not just for kids anymore, and the later books are actually kind of dark/mature), Lord of the Rings (old-school, but still the best!), Jaqueline Carey's Kushiel's Legacy trilogy is a good (mildly erotic) adult fantasy, very well written. Mercedes Lackey is a great author as well. If you like Science Fiction: I'd recommend anything by Asimov, Bradbury, or Clark. They're old-school as well, but still classic and with surprisingly innovative storylines. If you like Non-fiction: I'd recomend the Know-It-All, Eat-Pray-Love by Elizabeth Gilbert, The Secret by Rhonda Bryne, or Paris to the Moon. If you like "Best-Seller" type Fiction: I'm a John Grisham fan, although I haven't read his more recent stuff so I can't speak on that. I've got friends who swear by Patterson. Romance: Nora Roberts is always a good read. Classics/Literary: Edgar Allen Poe's short stories are fun, Gothic horror with some mysteries thrown in, Mark Twain is funny and engaging, Jules Verne and HG Wells are good. If you're looking for a challenge, try reading Mary Shelley's Frankenstein and discover the real story! Hope this has helped. Have fun!!! looked over at my bookshelves for some inspiration! start with book #1 of janet evanovich's series. as of date the hardcover # 13 is published. i can't get enough of her books, very good stephanie plum novels Washington's Crossing by David Fischer. Tipping Point and/or Blink by Malcolm Gladwell. |
