Temp jobs in administrative support is so boring? |
I have worked many jobs as a temp in the area of administrative support. How boring! They never seem to have anything for me to do and I have to spend all my effort making work to fill the day. I spend so much effort trying to look busy that I am so tired at the end of the day. Being bored is so exusting. Dont you think? !. Because those tasks are what the permanent employees don't want to do, and; 2. They require very little training (investment on the employer's part). Being bored is more mentally exhausting than anything I can think of. Being busy is stimulating. Source(s): My own experience Hi, Admin jobs become so boring after a point of time. You will have to explore new avenues to keep your interest going and improve your skill sets by doing different kind of works. You can check out http://www.positionadvice.info for some useful info and tips on finding the right job for you. Good luck! I'm bored right now at my temp job, but hey at least I'm getting paid for it. Anything is better than working in the fast food industry. Besides I know it will get busy in about a week. Either the agency sending you on these assignments is clueless about your skills and qualifications or the clients who are paying a high hourly rate for your services are bad managers since they are either not using you or they do not need you. At the end of the day the client is the sole loser while you are not getting challenged or utilized. I know how tiresome is to spend 8 hours on a job without much to do. The day seems endless and deep inside you are discouraged. Is there an HR person you can ask for work? In the meantime, thank God you have a job. Yeah, it's boring sitting around for 8 or 9 hours with not much to do... ...but do you want them to spend the entire day training you how to use their very specific billing software, when you'll be there one or two days? Or is their regular Office Admin so good, they had all the work done so there was nothing left to keep you busy? If you've got a job that lasts more than two days, be thankful. I've been with my temp company for almost two years, and the longest job I've had is three days. I live in Michigan; there ARE no jobs. I fill in for people when they go on vacation. I work five days a month. Whoopee! my job is exactly the same. thank god i finish on the 31st August lol. It like well you hired me give me work to do. this doesnt mean photocopying. it really annoys me that im general dogsbody in my workplace x |
