When is a good time to bring up salary during an interview? |
I have an interview next week and have others lined up. The job I choose depends directly on the salary. That, and the atmosphere. thanks everyone They may be planning to ask you what salary you want so do a little research and have a figure ready in case that happens. If they don't ask you they will probably tell you during the interview, otherwise bring it up at the end when they ask you if you have any questions. If it lower than expected don't look disappointed, just jot it down. An interview is still great experience even if you decide not to take the job. * You should not bring up salary at all during a first interview. Only after they offer you the job do you negotiate salary, never on the first interview. The best time to bring up salary is after you have a firm job offer, or when the interviewer asks you if you have any questions regarding the position. When the person interviewing you asks "do you have any questions for me" Me. I just got done with a week of interviewing people. Never discuss salary in an interview. Once you get the job offer, then it is time to negotiate salary. |
