Can someone explain the difference? |
Can someone tell me the difference between the following job titles......Executive Assistant, Executive Support, Administrative Support, Administrative Assistant, Office Administration, Office Administrator, Office Support. In the US, at least, every company has its own set of job title definitions, so there isn't going to be a universal answer that applies. However, the "Executive" jobs will usually be to take care of the needs of a single manager, whereas the corresponding "Administrative" and "Office" jobs will usually be to take care of the needs of a manager and the manager's department. I'm fuzzy on the difference between "Assistant" and "Support", sorry. A total of about 5 dollars an hour depending on where you work. They are essentially titles for the same types of jobs. Every employer calls this staff person by a different name. They do the same thing...except that an executive assistant often works for one person and an office administrator works for the whole office. Does anyone remember the honest days when they used the word "secretary"? They are all pretty much the same. Different places use different titles. Usually the "executive" title is held by someone with more experience and they usually support executive level staff (VP's, CFO, CEO.) it's just a way to make "secretary" sound more important The difference can be minimal or monumental depending on where you work and who you work for. Each company defines each title in a different way. |
