What is a typical day like for these occupations, which is better?

Bookkeeping, Accounting Clerks, Account Collectors, Human Resources Assistant, Executive Secretaries, Administrative Assistants, Customer Service Representative, Insurance Claim/Processing Clerk?

I have an opportunity to further my education (I already have an AS) and get a certificate of completion. I want something that is very flexible to move between states (unlike something that requires a state certification). Which would be most useful in a small town?

Here is a website from the US Occupational Outlook Handbook that provides general info on various job field: www.bls.gov/oco and can type into search 'bookkeeper', 'human resources assistant' and whatever else piques one's interest. Good luck to you in your career search and any endeavors! Source(s): And here is a website for US colleges and universities (including community colleges): www.utexas.edu/world/univ
Well let me see. Some of the occupations that you listed require you to know the state's regulations. They are: Bookkeeping, Accounting Clerks, Account collectors, Human Resources Assistant, and Insurance Claim/Processing Clerk. You don't really have to have a state certification because they can train you on it. But those occupations need you to know the details of the state regulations. Lets say it is the Human Resources Assistant. You will need to know the state's law regarding employment practice. Why don't you try to get a major in something AND a minor in something else? That will give an option if your major doesn't work out as you plan it to be. I do not know the answer about the small town question. It depends on how small the town is. How many business are there in the town and what type. Things like that. Good luck!
