Name of child negatively impacting job potential/career path? |
Hello, My wife and I are weighing several names for our child. My surname is Jones, and we want to be different without being over the top. Here are some names we picked out. Let me know if you believe these names could be harmful for our child's potential career path. For a boy: Jamead Tykel Lyedeen Rydell Quan Day'kwan Malqued For a girl: Shadqueesh Kydeera Rytanna Quadryina Likeema Kinyadta Nildonna Keisharda I think most of these are over the top and/or very ethnic which may not be what you are looking for. For a boy: Jamead - sounds African to me. Tykel - this does as well. Lyedeen - doesn't appeal to me whatsoever Rydell - this is actually a rarely used traditional name. Good choice. Quan - I like this better than Day'kawn. Day'kwan - don't like it. Malqued - don't like it. For a girl: Shadqueesh - I wouldn't want this name. Kydeera - THis one sounds nice, actually. Rytanna - This one sounds nice too! Quadryina - wouldn't want this name Likeema - Don't like it. Kinyadta - People would struggle to pronounce or spell. Nildonna - this translates to be Not Donna. Doesn't make sense. Keisharda - Sounds african, but a nice name. well because of your worries I would choose these 2 names out of the group of names you selected Rydell for a boy Kydeera for a girl those are not to over the top Ha ha go read Freakanomics. Be careful. The child will be stuck with the name you give them all their life. What's "cute" now may not be so cute later. Don't put your child in the position where ifthey say,"Hi,. I'm....." and the other person just gives them that " you gotta be kidding " stare. We live in a new age, however i think we all know what you are refrencing to with this question. I believe that you and your wife should choose a name that you are happy with - afterall do you really want your child working for an employer that would discriminate based on the name at the top of the resume? I personally like Rydell for a boys name. Congrats on the baby! No, I think your child can do anything. Your kidding, right??? |
