What can I say when they ask me this question...What gives you the greatest pleasure in your work? i can only answer this in my own personal opinion. accomplishment is my greatest pleasure at work. If i succeed at tasks assigned to me then I hope i will get better and more visible assignments. With ongoing and superior accomplishments, I feel my worth to the organization would be that of trust, faith and confidence. Say what you feel. If going home at the end of the day is what gives you the greatest pleasure, you may need to find a new line of work. Feeling like you're making a contribution to the smooth running operation of the company? Contributing to the growth of the company? Being a part of the team spirit (if there is one) in the company? Knowing that you've put in a good day's work for what they're paying you? Only you know that. I suggest thinking about your work now and in the past. What has made you happy? You'll find a good answer that is true for you! When someone says "thanks . I knew I could count on you.!" Completing tasks before a deadline, or knowing that I gave my all at the end of the day. When this question is asked, they don't always want to know what really your pleasure is...sometimes it's get to know your priorities and what's important to you. For example... If you say your pleasure is getting your work done at the end of the day, it tells me you are focused and get personal satisfaction when you complete your task. But it could also tell me that it's your just here to get your work done, which is good but it depends on the industry, teamwork is important and are you able to get your work done as a team or is it only about you and your task. If you say....to help others....then this could tell me you are a team player and like the interaction with co-workers, yet you don't mind stepping up. But depending on your other answers as a whole...it may say you are dependent on others telling you what to do. Basically, the interview is an overall feeling, you can't just answer 1 question right and get the job. Which I'm sure you know! SO my answer finally... What give me please in my job is being surrounded by others, being a team player and be useful when needed. I enjoy learning and exceeding others expectations. Good luck!! |
