Help with my application form please!!!!!? |
I'm applying for a job which is an admin job and on the application form it has the following question. I do not know what to write. Anone got any ideas. Serious answers only please. Also I have not done admin work before as I am just fresh out of uni and have experience only in retail. Describe a time when you were faced with a problem outside your normal day-to-day routines. Explain how you dealt with the problem. I am sure that when you worked in retail you must have come across some problem at some time - just write about that and what you did - the prospective employers will know you have not been employed in admin before but just want an idea on how you would handle a situation that is "out of the norm" i.e. someone complaining about an item which you actually knew was OK - what did you do etc etc i.e. someone trying to bring something back when you knew it had been worn etc etc Take your time - do not panic and fill in form slowly - you will get used to them and good luck OK, so what about something that happened unexpectedly, at work - like a complaint, a delivery showing up or something that was outside of your usual responsibilities. Did you go ahead and deal with the complaint? Or get on and book the delivery in and sign it, checking it in accordance with company policy? If you can think of an answer along these lines I think that is what they are looking for - just about you using your initiative. erm.. im really not sure, search on google, or seek advice at your local library.. Good luck.. x They are trying to gauge how fast you can think on your feet and how you manage your emotions and responses. It doesn't have to be job related, just think of something that was a problem that had to be dealt with, and how you handled it. have you worked somewhere that has been affected by a postal strike for example. How did you deal with it.. etc etc etc.. or have you had to deal with an aggressive customer.. just think of a scenario thats happened to you and doesn't normally happen.. and when it did happen what did you do. That is a really hard question, I will think about it and get back to you! Have had a little experience in admin. |
