Putting in a good word for someone before you start a new job? |
if you just received and accepted a job offer, haven't started yet, is it appropriate to put in a good word for a friend who has interviewed for another position? NO! you need to prove yourself to the employer first. As an employer myself I would look down apon such actions. It would not matter what your intensions were. Even if your mate was the harddest working person that ever was. It's called taking the piss. yes cause if he get a job maybe he can help you get your job sure why not , I'm sure it would help, I would be worried if I where the boss and you never spoke in favor of your friend. I don't recommend it! Your friend may not pass the same hurdles you have, to get the offer. If your friends fail, you maybe indirectly affected. I don't believe that you should recommend anyone until you've been there over 90 days. Over 35 years of working for many Fortune 500 corporations. I don't know. You might want to look at learntosucceed.biz I read their materials on various work topics and found that they really make a difference in advancing your career. Good luck and congrats on the new job NO! |
