My job is driving me nuts. how do i vent to my boss without having an emotional breakdown?

I have a pile of things to do..

This morning a women called regarding his salary.
At the same time, 2 people came up to me and asked for things while I was on the phone with her.
I have no clue what she said and she was very irritated with me. Then she rudely said I will ask somewhere else.

I don't wnat to freak out on my boss, and the other 2 people needed things from me that no one else can do.
How can I get or relay to my boss that people need to back off in order for me to get things done, without getting upset or sounding like a bit$h or do I look like I can't handle everything?
I handle everything here, I am the only office person.

If you just described a regular day at the office, it looks like you could use some assistance or a good way to tell people when you are busy, although it was rude of the two people to bother you when you were obviously talking on the phone. Next time that situation occurs, people usually respond to one uplifted finger (not THAT one), to signify "one minute please"...they will wait if you are the ONLY person who can help them. You might also suggest that you have weekly meetings with the co-workers who regularly need your assistance...see if you can schedule a certain time during the week to give them materials that they need on a regular basis...look hard at your workweek and see if there are things that could be better organized to streamline your time.
I think a direct approach is best. When you are overwhelmed by a burst of activitiy, just tell each person that you need to handle things one at a time and you'll get to them as soon as you can. Be sure to have a positive tone of voice and just assume that they will understand and wait patiently. If they don't the problem is them, not you, since you are busy working on things in the right order.
put a sign on your desk,

'if i'm on the phone, write down what you want to ask me and i'll get back to you'
If you feel like it is hurting your work performance because you have to "dance" around her then yes and a direct or honest approach is best. If she is your boss I would maybe suggest a meeting time to air out the daily stuff that she needs done either for the day, week, hour, whatever... Get an outlook or schedule pad going so you can do these task or whatever else she needs done or asks... And then you should be able to help your other workers and telephone questions...

Good luck
why not have lunch together and calmy tell him whats on your mind
It sounds like your boss is not the problem here. It's true that people will treat you the way you allow them to. If you let people in your office get away with interrupting you while you're on the phone, they will. It only takes a brief moment to ask the person on the phone to hold for just a moment, acknowledge the interrupter and tell them "just a minute, I'm on the phone", then get back to your caller and apologize for the interruption. After a while, your co-workers will get the hint that you won't allow them to interrupt you whenever they want to. Take back control of the situation before it gets any worse! You'll also be showing your boss that you're able to handle situations on your own without asking her to solve everything for you.
If you feel like crying do it at home, never cry at the office. Once your done venting (I vent by crying & drinking a couple of beers) sit down & write down all the things you do at work & all the things your responsible for. The next day having vented, sit with your boss & go over your list. He/she may not be aware of all your responsibilities. After going over the list, discuss what your boss can do to help, whether it means taking some stuff off your desk or hiring some part-time temporary help.
