How come I am missing folders at work and I couldn't find them?



I couldn't find the missing folders at work anymore cause my boss from my other department like import told me to box them. Would I get fired for misplacing folders at work? I was asked why I boxed folders in the cabinet recently new.

Double check and ensure that you've been thru all possible areas. Failing which report it to your boss. Rather he hears from you in advance than finding it out himself later. For preventative measures, be more organised and locked away all important documents to prevent future losses.
Are you the only person who handled those folders? If you have 2 bosses, could other employees have taken that box of folders? It does happen -- especially among competing bosses and employees.
Write a memo, you are a careful and aware person that does not like what is going on...so you want to advice to your boss consider to lock the files. Do some policies and procedures if others use them, or come around your area, like sign it out. If down the road something happens you've covered your tracks, by showing you're concerned and do care.
Whether or not you would be fired depends on how strict your bosses are. Where I work one of my responsibilities is filing the paperwork for each job (work for an A/C contractor). Folders getting lost or misplaced is quite common and I haven't been fired for it yet. In my case though, there are no restrictions for who can and can not access those files.
In your case though it could be misfiled by someone who was digging around in the box. Its also possible that someone removed the folders after you boxed them and never bothered to return them.
