What should I do, another employee is hurting my reputation?

There is so much more to this story that there are words available here but since I started this other older lady person has been taking direct hits at me with everything I do. She has been here for 4 years and has had consistently bad performance reviews, I have been here for 1 and have nothing but positive feedback. She has taken our line manager to HR several times trying to get him in trouble, this last time, she filed age discrimination. She said because I'm younger he is trying to get rid of her. Her work is of poor quality. She makes alot of mistakes. However she continues to rake my name right through the mud. Thank goodness she has finally been transferred. Through this ordeal I have been calm and have kept my mouth shut. I heard her daughter who works here too some how got a copy of my Performance Review, and she has been using it to gain ground for her case. Today I have found nasty grams in the file drawers directed at me. I feel this is unappropriate behavior.

Be patient, she will get what is coming to her. If it make you feel better, document everything just in case you get dragged into discrimination case. I would also talk to you HR person and see what they recommend.
don't worry she's not hurting your reputation, she's hurting hers! They know she's a flake and if she's getting bad reviews, probably won't be there much longer anyway.
Keep your mouth shut and remember if you start a fuss over rumor and gossip YOU will end up being the bad guy and possibly the one fired.
I would take this issue to HR and report it... you should not have to deal with this. I would file a case against her.
Kick her ***!

but really dont let her get away with these things. take action!
You need to make an official complaint to HR. This behavior is invading your privacy and bordering on stalking.

Discuss with HR the nature of the things this employee is doing. Explain to them that you are concerned that she is ruining your reputation. Tell HR that if it continues you will have to sue the other employee for defamation of character. Make sure that HR communicates this to the older lady. If she doesn't lay off, go through with it (or at least have a lawyer draft a letter).

Clearly HR is aware that she is a problem, they may not have enough ammunition to fire her yet. But your complaint, alleging workplace harrassment could be just what they need.
you need to document everything and keep a thorough record of all interactions and events concerning this issue. by doing this you will cover your butt so to speak. the next step is to speak candidly with your superior. you have done nothing wrong and you have kept quiet long enough. lay everything out on the table and trust your superior to handle it appropriately. you don't have to stand by and let this happen without taking action to defend yourself. continue to be respectful and mature and discreet as you have been, i wish you the best of luck!
