Does anyone have a job that allows them to go barefoot at work? |
Does anyone have a job that allows them to go barefoot at work? Yes, I've worked at a history theme park for about nine years now, we wear period clothing and while we could wear moccasin-like shoes if we want to, I always go barefoot. I also went barefoot at my previous job at an internet helpdesk and at some temp jobs. It's not unhealthy or dangerous; sorry to hear about the one person in flipflops cutting herself but really, I've not cut myself in ten years even though we're in an outside environment doing lots of physical work... it's just bad luck, I've hurt my hands several times and no gloves are required... I've fallen while riding my bicycle from shoe strings coming undone & getting tangled (back when I still wore shoes) and no one banned shoes with shoestrings. I think that apart from places with serious hazards like hardhat areas, it's silly for people to ban bare feet when one minor mishap occurs; no one ever bothers to do with same when one minor incident happens related to shoes, bare hands etc. Source(s): Ten years of working barefoot No! I used to be a lifequard and we went barefoot all the time. lifeguard, swimming coach, karate instructors :) Lifeguard i sit at home and work on my computer in the nude. |
