What's the best way to keep the "two-legged pests" (erring employees) out of your way? The Hang-Arounder. When confronting the co-worker who chronically lingers to chat when you are trying to make a deadline -- a subtle jerk, but a jerk nonetheless -- try standing up when they enter your office or cube. "The unspoken message of your body language will clearly tell him or her to keep it brief and head for the door," says Ken Lloyd, author of "Jerks at Work: How to Deal With People Problems and Problem People." http://hotjobs.yahoo.com/jobseeker/tools... Source(s): http://hotjobs.yahoo.com/jobseeker/tools... It really depends on the scenario... I guess I am unclear what type of answer you seek? Are you the owner, manager, co-worker and what is the nature of the problem? Avoid being too personal; keep your personal life seperate. stand up when the approach and ask them what can I do for you...I have a dead line to meet. Please stay out of my way, you say whatever you have to say if you want to keep your job. Don't try to involve in the arguments for this kind of people. Try to make them happy or if your seriously not interested to talk with them then dont bother the comments. But think that when one elephant walk through the road,1000's of dogs bark but it doesn't effect the elephant. |
