Can't make sure what to do ? Big Boss | Immediate Boss? |
Well, the MD gave me a cheque of a handsome amount with an appraisal letter and told me not to tell my immediate boss about it. Should i inform my immediate boss about it and mention that MD said so, since i am informing him each and every possible thing. What if he'll get to know this from MD later or someone else, he might feel bad and think when he tells me each small thing, why didn't he inform me about it. The BIG boss is the one who controls the purse strings. If he gave you the bonus and told you not to tell your immediate supervisor then he meant just that. This is him trusting you. If the MD chooses to tell your immediate supervisor at a later date, that is HIS choice. Source(s): Life u must mention this to him but in tricky way. u should not mention that md told u to not to tell him. u must tell him when he is in good mood and dont go in details but he should not feel later that u have hidden this from him. at the same time, u can tell him that this all becuase of his support and the way he presented u in front of md. If you've been asked not to tell, then don't tell. You can't go against what the doctor has asked you to do. If your immediate boss finds out in the future, and asks why you did not inform him, the truth always works ("Dr Mackey advised me he wanted to tell you about the check and letter) which covers your fanny. |
