Ever thought about construction? Or perhaps he is just aiming too high to start? He's young and deserves a chance, but he is going to have to start at the bottom and work his way up. Has he given any thought to going to college, jr. college or a trade school? LA has many trade schools. Many of the applicants at these schools are in the same boat that he is. they are trying to make a better life for themselves, but the discrepanices in their past is making it hard. My brother is in the same boat with the shoplifting, plus MANY MORE worse things on his record. He's starting over and works at a gas station as a cashier... he's 26. Your brother will find something. Good luck. Source(s): http://www.technical-schools-guide.com/l...
I live in Florida and work for a company, well established, has three offices and three call centers. They hire ANYONE, it is telemarketing and the pay is not bad but the commissions are great. Look into telemarketing, they hire pretty much anyone and you can make very decent pay. There are at least five guys I sit near who have been incarcerated in federal prisons. They do their work and make their money and I know you can find similar jobs for your bro in L.A.
Also check out work at home jobs, only the ones that do NOT require start up costs...those are scams. Try sologig.com
Try usajobs.opm.gov. It's steady and honest work. He can get a job there without having a military background, or affiliation. But it helps. It takes a while and it'll help him decide what he wants to do. (Please tell him to use the military as a last resort!) Too many people join for the wrong reasons and then life passes them by. He can find a rewarding job as a civil servant (civilian government employee) assisting. I hope that helps.
