Do you consider this degrading?

I'm a CSR...and my boss sent me an email that said:

"Write 'FOR YOU' on the post it I put on the table in the corner"

He also does stuff like he types a whole letter then prints it out and gives it to me to re-type it...he refuses to email it to me.

Just a FYI...I have a bachelors degree and he has an associates from a community college (which is fine...) BUT he didn't work his way up. He girlfriends mother died and gave her the house, so he sold his house and moved in with her. He had the extra money and bought a franchise.

Isn't that degrading?!! He's so lazy and on such a powertrip he can't write two words on a post it- he already got up to get from the closet?

Franchise owners are not always the most experienced management persons around so they can be very clutsy with their workers. I have worked in a number of those outlets. In small businesses you normally are stuck doing a combination of jobs regardless of your education because they can't afford a bigger staff.
You can do better with your education. Find a better employer.
Wow... sounds a bit degrading and sounds like he is pathetic. Just one of those people you gotta deal with though.
Not that the man is lazy. If he took the time to put the post it on the table but not to write, "For you on it", he just seems to want to see what and how far he can get you to go. If that is not in your job description then tell him to do it himself next time. Power trip it is!
Get another job.
Girl, I feel where you are coming from. My job refuses to pay me for my bachelor's degree so I'm stuck in an office of monkeys who only have a G.E.D. I'm also a CSR, so I know it's difficult for you. You're boss may not have been properly trained for his job, but there's always room for suggestions. Check to see if there's maybe a group meeting for company improvements and make some suggestions. Also, try to make factual points about how, for example, email saves paper and time which saves the company money. Every company wants to cut costs. Make it seem as if you're trying to help and not trying to point out that your boss is an idiot.
I can see where that's degrading, implying you'll do what your told because you work for HIM, not the company. Openly point out the inefficiencies in his way of doing things - that in the time it took to compose and send and email for you to read, he could've just done it himself and that by typing and printing and retyping a letter, he just had you repeat work that was already done so he didn't have to spend another 30 seconds to attach it to an email or cut and paste. It sounds like the guy worked for others for years and thought leadership was all about throwing around demands so surely he could do it. He needs to be put in his place. If he is not receptive to your input, go on the job search. You have a degree and you have options.
The next time he asks you to write a post-it note, ask him, "Why is my handwriting that much better than yours?" That could be the real reason. My boss' handwriting is so bad that every word he writes has to be analyzed to figure out what the letters could be. On the other hand, my predecessor had beautiful handwriting.

I don't understand why you would have to retype a letter he already typed, though.
