Is administrative work is all paper work?

Is administrative work is all paper work?

oh yeah, whatta job!
I dont think so,depending which section you are in, there's also purchasing, monitoring and supervison besides secretarial.
no... I answer phones too :-)
I work in a small office for an HVAC contractor. In addition to light paperwork...I also answer phones, programming (Visual Basic), IT, PC help desk, PC technician, AutoCAD guru, permits/inspections. hmm..I guess you could say I'm not the typical admin since admins normally don't do the intense computer stuff like programming and most probably don't know AutoCAD either.
not definitely. it certainly depends on the size of the company's operation and ur job title. normally, clerical staff will do most of the paper work. in broader terms, administration involves supplier and customer relationship management. it is also concerned about setting, implementing and monitoring the policies and procedures on overall operation of the company.
I work in NYC and my jobs includes business letters, emails, calendars, setting up meetings (food & beverages), security, office supplies, travel (airfares, hotels, car services), expense reimbursement (American Express), providing occasional departmental parties, use of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel & PowerPoint, running unusual errands sometimes, picking up clients from Reception and bringing them to the meetings, scheduling candidates for interviews, attend compliance seminars/workshops, and trouble-shooting for executive managers when necessary. Also, I am the intermediary for everything from Security, temperature control, housekeeping, hanging pictures, mailroom issues and more. This is being an Administrative Assistant. The Executive Assistants have few topics, but more "bullet points."
Generally admin work are paper-related and desk-bound. However, in today's IT tecnology, admin work could also entails basic computer knowledge.
