Need some advice?

I have worked for private sectors over that last 10 years in HR, I was hired into a public sector after I relocated to another state, for the last 4 years, but the last 3 months have been with a new company. How would you tell a person who is interviewing you from a private sector why you are leaving your current job (in a professional way) after only being there for 3 months? I worked for local government in HR & the past 3 months have been with the state HR. I saw a position with a private sector that I really want, I applied & they called me the next day for a phone interview on Thursday. I know they're going to ask me why I'm leaving after only 3 months. I've never left a job without a few years of service, this is the first time. I feel saying 鈥渏ust because I want to go back to the private sector鈥?is not good enough.

just be honest , that way you wont give the impression of being hesitant in your answer " i have never left a job without a few years of service , i like this job alot but i feel working in the private sector is what i want to do as a life time career" ( go on explaining some of your best experiences working there but dont go overboard , 2 or 3 minutes should suffice )

isnt that what you just said here ;) good luck :)
Tell them you like your current position but that the private sector is where you shine. You aren't being fired so don't panic over it. Just be professional and honest.
Well, my grandma used to say that if you tell the truth, you'll never get caught in a lie. So tell the truth. It's been my experience that employers prefer honesty. So tell them that you want to go back to the private sector and list all of your reasons for wanting this.

Imagine trying to conjure up a lie. And you get the job. And then at the office xmas party you have a drink too much or the real reason slips out sometime in conversation... how will you look then? Simple. You'll look dishonest. Is that what you want? I know I would prefer an honest employee to a dishonest one any day! And you know for a fact that whenever you lie, sooner or later, you get caught. And supposing that you don't, just supposing you don't get caught. Have you thought about the fact that you reap what you sow...? So, if you lie now, sooner or later in life, someone will lie to you. Is that what you want?

It's simple really. Tell the truth about why you want to return to the private sector. The people hiring you in this private sector will appreciate it.

Good luck with the job!
say you are seeking a position with better opprutunites for advancement, or that you feel you could better serve a differen't company.
