Do we need to serve coffee as an admin assistant?

is it included in the job specifications?

coffee question guy if you are having problems with your present work you might as well find a suiting one for. you.

as for your question, it doesnt specify state that, "to serve coffee at lucheons and meetings" but it is expected as an assistant.
No not necessarily.
I've always had a problem with this. I might make a pot, but there is no way I'm going to actually pour it and stir it for anyone. It does need to be in the job description, if not at least verbally discussed with you during the the interview or hiring process.
Organizational-Industrial Psychology student.
Every job description includes this duty in some format: "And other duties as assigned." I think that the people who drink the coffee should make the coffee. The exception would be a meeting where someone would make a pot of coffee and do the set up.

Bring up the topic with your boss and tell her/him how you feel. Suggest that
1. everyone who drinks the coffee should make the coffee
2. the first coffee drinker who arrives make the first pot, the person who empties the pot makes the next pot.
3. people who do not drink the coffee should not have to make, serve, or clean up (except for those meetings)
4. If the "neanderthals" don't think one of these ideas is fair, start making the most disgusting coffee you can - very strong, very weak. etc. Continue until they give in. If you drink coffee, bring it from home and don't touch the office pot ever.
This admin doesn't touch the coffee or coffee pot. I don't drink coffee period, at home or at work. As far as I'm concerned since I don't drink it, I should not be made responsible for it.
My gosh... get over yourself! What's the harm in serving coffee? Don't you think it would be worse if you had to break someone's legs for a living, take off your clothes and dance, steal, etc.

My gosh! What the heck is wrong with serviing coffee??? Let me ask you: would you think less of your boss if he served YOU coffee..? I highly doubt it! Get over your pre-conceived stereotype prejudices. You'll find life a much better place to be! Has no one ever told you that no one can make you feel inferior, unless you give them permission to do so???????
