Need help with my temp agency?

i was offered to start my own business in temping by my friend.
she has her own company and she needed an IT person to work for her. so i said ok, so yesterday we talked about me starting an IT staffing agency under her company. she has 2 empty offices and she is offering me to work in one of those offices. but....seriously i really dont have a clue on what to do
( note ) i am in technical computer school so i will have no problem getting fresh students out of my school to start jobs. i really dont know what to do to find employers to hire the temps.
i am really clueless, i know for a fact that i can temp myself out but if i feel like i am at the right place and the timeing is great i just need a little guidence.
please help

ok to start of, your friend, as the owner of the company, needed GOOD people that she can truly rely and trust on.

what the owner can see from you is you can discern who is capable to be pooled around.

the owner might have it company contacts (or accounts as they say) and what you do is just fill in the gaps. (fill the right person unto the said job).

the owner might not know anything about it stuff, and she can see a market in which the company can fill in. what she needs is someone who can review qualified people and fill it.

continue to challenge yourself you can never say that you failed if you didnt try. be open with your friend and to this opportunity. Source(s): good luck!
Sorry Keith,
It looks like you are going into a whole other field. That is like going from a proffesion as a teacher of English, having a friend offer you a position as a biologist. You don't have the background for it. You need alot more information than you can get from a message board.
Sr. Staffing Assistant.
You need 2 types of advice right way: tax & legal. First of all you would need to be incorporated otherwise you would be personally responsible for all liability. Secondly a good accountant who knows the field will be a lifesaver. As far as marketing, getting clients, etc. contact the SBA - Small Business Administration and take some of there classes. Also check out Gorilla Marketing, great book.
Good Luck! To learn to be a scout, you will need to learn to connect yourself with the corporate world. A scout/staffer is much like a salesperson: you are selling a service and need to convince people to use it. Ask yourself, what is the true unique quality that you offer that no other service does? Create it and live by it. Then it will grow on you and it will roll off your tongue naturally. Also, if you can buddy-up with another trusting agency(get yourself a niche, first), then you will have another resource to work with.
It is best to work with your friend for the first while to understand how to approach potential employers and how to recruit applicants (send them to the right place). Having dual skills in HR and IT will make you more successful when you do it alone.
