We are taxed compartively well overall BUT our higher end tax rates are excessive by comparison...that is only on income tax though. We pay many other taxes that make us a highly taxed nation although many of these taxes are for companies and not individuals. An example of overtaxing is in the area of superannuation where we are the only country that taxes going in and coming out.
