What is procedure to register a trading company in australia? how much is cost? |
i am working here on the business visa since last 2 years and now exploring whether i can start my own small company for trading merchandize. I also want to continue my job and same time run my small company? any body can suggest anything with their emails to communicate. i wish to know the legalities and effect on my visa status and immigration in general. thanks to all those who give guidance. karen sydney Some people use the term 'company' to just mean a business. If your business will be in your personal name, no registration is required. If you intend to use a business name (other than your personal name), you register that name at the state or territory department which handles that. In NSW, it is the Office of Fair Trading; see URL below. I think its about AUD150 for 3 years, but check the website. If you wish to incorporate a company, fill out a Form 201 and bring it to the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) and pay AUD400 for immediate registration. Annual fee is AUD212.
