Definition of a Non-Resident according to ATO?

I have been living and working overseas for the past 6 yrs, for the UN. I have a rental property from which I earn income, but at this stage I'm making a net loss each year on the property. Am I considered a resident or a non-resident for Australian tax purposes? I am still an Aust citizen and my family resides there also.

There's a number of tests on residency that the ATO applies, i can't be bothered typing them out. Jump on the ato website www.ato.gov.au and explore do some searches.

Here's a good starting point http://www.ato.gov.au/individuals/conten...

Good luck.
