Do you pay less taxes if you are in the Australian Armed Services?

Not technically. However, if you are deployed overseas, you dont have to pay tax on the extra money you earn. Also, there are zone allowances you can get if you are away from capital cities and away from home for long periods. There are also certain deductions that are unique to defence personnel.
