What happens if you do not pay your taxes?

What happens if you do not pay your taxes?

a case will be filed against you, depending on the amount of money you owe from the government. you will be known as a tax evader. Source(s): this is our governtments's action against people who wishes to deny their obligation in paying their taxes
You can be charged. You will be in huge trouble.
You'll be in deep **** mate
If you decide that you no longer want to pay taxes, you may do so.
However, once the IRS realizes that you are delinquent in paying your taxes, they will assess the taxes to you. You will then recieve several letters informing you of your outstanding tax debt, which will be incuring penalties and interest. These charges can be as high as 47.5%. If you still choose to not pay the taxes plus penalties and interest, the IRS will move forward with collections including levies against your wages, bank accounts, investments, and any other source of income they locate.(they will take these funds). I tax lien may also be filed against any real property you now own or may ow in the future. The IRS has 10years to collect on an unpaid debt. They will pursue any action necessary to settle that amount.

It is alot more affordable to pay your taxes than to pay past due taxes.

Hope this helps,
good luck
