Can a canadian claim U.S. Charitable donations?

I just want to know if I can claim my donations to U.S. Charitable Organizations as I am a canadian. Thanks for your help.

I regularly donate money to Canadian Blood Services. I am a US citizen that earns zero money in Canada. All of my income is derived from US sources.

My tax accountant tells me since I don't earn any income from Canadian sources and therefore do not file a Canadian Income Tax return, I am unable to deduct my charitable donations to CBS on my US Income Tax Return.

So, I have the same dilemma you are having, except that the countries are reversed.
I dont know, try to ask a local government official and maybe it`ll give you enough information on how.
If you have US income that you are declaring on your Canadian tax return, then you claim the donations against that income. Otherwise, no you can't.
