Does anyone know the tax rules for Canadians living abroad?

I'm a canadian resident and citizen living in the middle east. I want more information about the canadian tax rules and how they apply to me.

If you do not maintain a family or business in Canada, then you do not use any of our resources. You do not have to pay Canadian income tax. It all depend on how long you been living in the middle east. Whether or not you come back to stay in Canada sometimes. The safest is to contact Canada Revenue Agency. I am very sure they will happy to help you.
It all depends on your ties to Canada. If you have made a "clean break" from Canada and really don't have any ties left here. If you have family, property, assets, bank account, social club memberships that you are maintaining in Canada it doesn't show that you are intending to make a clean break from Canada and will probably be taxed as such.

However, these are murky waters and interpretation can be different from person to person.

Hope this helps somewhat, good luck.
