Help me understand the benefits of this kind of corporate culture ?

I work for a large corporation, and I just don't get why things are done the way they are. For example, there is no job-specific training at ALL. If you're hired into a position, you're just supposed to "figure out" how to perform your role. People waste days trying to track down things that could have been explained in 5 minutes. And when people give presentations, instead of saving questions til the end, people ask questions throughout. This almost always results in the presentation going really late and/or getting cut short because people ask questions that would have been answered in the presentation, but suddenly are no longer in a logical sequence and end up being given in bits and pieces that don't tie together well. I could give a bunch of other examples, but they won't all fit here. I know I'm an "older" employee (44) so I'm "old school", and I know the "old way" probably was TOO rigid and stifled creativity, but I just don't see that this way is particularly "better"

People like creativity. People like to feel loose. The new corporate culture is one that is a microcosim of socienty. People are impatient and looking for a quick answer or fix. People have little attention spans which makes others have less pateints.

You really have three options:

1)change the system
2) accept the system
3) create the new system

You would most likely be most happy to create a new system.. even if it means you start your own company and do it your way. Find a niche fill the void.. and let others learn your new company's corporate culture. Source(s): http://cashflowstoo.com/answers.php...
i agree with both you and cashflow, he makes a good point but it sounds really unorganized at your work place. i think i would either take cashflows advice or get out of there, its stressin me to even try to imagine your position....cant imagine how an actual employee feels day to day...... :)
