What is the role of a commitee secretary?

Being a committee Secretary is about much more than just taking minutes. It is an active
not a passive role. It involves (amongst other things) knowing in great detail the remit of the
committee, advising the Chair on what can and cannot be done, preparing papers for
meetings and ensuring that others do the same, informing people of the outcome of
