Credit Cards? |
How old do you have to be to get your own credit card? 18 year old you can get credit card. you can apply online for a best credit card at: http://www.credit-card-gallery.com/prepa... 18 years old when you are a legal adult. As an owner: 18 As an authorized user: typically 15 former banker You can't legally get a credit card until you're 18. Then, some companies might not approve you (especially store credit cards, like the American Eagle card), because you don't have established credit that proves you can pay your bill and won't go bankrupt on them! If you're 18 and in school, I'd suggest you getting a student credit card. The limits are usually lower at first, but you can establish your credit and enjoy lower APR (though you should try your very best to pay it off each month--you wouldn't believe the extra charges). If you're younger and have a real reason for wanting one, your parents can usually cosign for one when you're 16. You could always get a checking account/debit card though, which might be easier to control if you're prone to shopping...like me :) 18 18, unless you are legally emancipated before then. |
