Is it law to be asked for return of commission on bounced cheques?

I work one day a week, home loan money collecting, as a self employed person. If a cheque bounces, even if I hav e been collecting from a person for a long time, I am expected to return my commission. Is this lawful please?

You should ask this question before accepting the job. To the company, you didn't earn that money because they didn't get the money back from their customer. The check has to be good. You salary bases on commission. Just like in sales, if you didn't sell, you wouldn't get paid.
I guess you will have to check your contract, but if you have not collected the money, you presumably should not get paid.
