Would this hurt or help credit? |
We are just over a year out of bankruptcy. Have a car loan in perfect standing for a year now and have 4 cc's open paid off each month to rebuild the credit. We are considering getting a small used car now in addition to the car we already have. Will 2 car loans open even if paid on time always hurt or help??? 2nd car loan would be under 8k.. Auto finance is what I do for a living and as long as everything is as you describe, one more open line of good credit paid as agreed will do nothing except help your score and profile. Source(s): Finance Manager for a car dealer for over 7-years. As long as you DON'T get in over your head and pay everything on time AND your open credit line is NOT above 30% of your income, you should be fine. But try to NEVER pay past the grace period and if possible pay the credit card balance off every month. I don't think it would hurt, again as long as you stay current on everything. It's hard to say whether it will do anything real significant to your credit scores. Make sure you keep your revolving balances under 30%. Find out how: Introduction to Credit Repair: http://aaacreditguide.com/forums/beginne... Well, as long as you keep the balance of those 4 CC's well below 30% of the combined available credit, you should be ok. Like Spifi said, having multiple accounts revolving (4 credit cards) and installment (2 car loans) will provide a mixture of credit usage to help out your score. Before you take out that 2nd car loan, I'd get those balances down first to get your score as high as possible to get the best interest rate possible. credit analyst/underwriter |
