What can I do about all these INQUIRIES?

Is there any way iI can remove the 2 dozen inquiries on my credit report? Everthing else I have resolved but these inquiries. I had no idea they could be this damaging to my credit!!!

I have heard of some people sending a letter to the credit bureau's stating that many of the inquiries were unauthorized inquiries and getting them removed. If these inquiries were not unauthorized obviously then this comes down to personal morals and such, but I have heard this works. Below is a link to a sample letter to have inquiries removed. You can call a toll free number to opt out any offers.
1-888-optout.
Sometimes, all the inquires are from credit card companies who want your business. These inquires shows who accessed your report and what the reason for pulling your credit report was. This optout will last 5 years.
Since I called to optout, I received less offers in the mail.

There are 2 types of inquiry- soft and hard.

Soft is when credit card company inquiries for promotional offers
Hard when you applied for a loan or credit card
no!! wants someone looks at your credit, they stay on there for 2 years..
dzwreck is right
You can stop applying for credit.

That is one good way to stop the inquirries.

They drop off in 2 years and have very little impact on you acctual score, what it does do is let the other lenders know that you are looking for credit.
